A major management-sim sequel has arrived

Planet Zoo 2 is now out, and the headline changes are easy to understand even if you did not follow every pre-release update. Frontier has kept the zoo-building and animal-management core while widening the kinds of exhibits players can create with fully aquatic and flying species.

The other big addition is Wildlife Reserves. Instead of conservation stopping at the zoo gates, the sequel lets players release animals into larger reserve spaces and manage those areas as part of the broader progression.

What stands out for simulator players

  • Fully aquatic species add freshwater and saltwater aquarium building.
  • Flying animals introduce aviaries and a different style of habitat design.
  • Wildlife Reserves extend the conservation loop beyond a traditional zoo.
  • The familiar sandbox, building, guest-management and animal-care systems remain central.

For the ItsZebraTV audience, the appeal is the combination of management systems and creative building rather than simply the size of the license. This is the sort of simulator where a player can spend as much time solving layout problems as watching animals.

Where this coverage stands

This page is a launch overview, not a Cyber Stripe review. I have not assigned Planet Zoo 2 a score here. If I cover it through gameplay later, that firsthand review or guide would live separately and link back to this launch brief.
