Worming from Home Beginner Guide: How to Survive Your First Office Days as a Worm

Worming from Home asks a very important question. What if a normal office job was significantly harder because you had no arms or legs? The answer is that sending a message becomes an athletic event and using a printer feels like a boss fight. The game is mostly about learning how to control the chaos, so the best beginner advice is less about perfect routes and more about not flinging yourself across the office every time a task appears.

Controlled movement beats panic movement

The physics are the joke, but you still have more control than it feels like at first. Get the worm lined up with the thing you actually need before committing to a big movement. Short adjustments are usually better than launching yourself and hoping the correct keyboard key happens to be under your face.

You are going to fail in funny ways anyway. The goal is to make the failures shorter.

Learn where the repeat tasks live

Your office jobs send you back to the same kinds of places. Spreadsheets, messages, phone calls, video calls and the printer each have their own little routine. Once you know where the interaction points are, start positioning yourself before the next task instead of waiting for the timer and then beginning a cross office migration.

The difference between prepared worm and confused worm is surprisingly large.

Do the simple tasks cleanly before chasing perfect scores

You do not need to turn every early task into a world record. Learn what each job expects, finish it consistently, then start worrying about faster runs and better grades.

The more comfortable you get with movement, the easier everything else becomes because you stop losing half the task just trying to reach the thing you were supposed to use.

The printer is supposed to feel ridiculous

The office hardware tasks are physical puzzles as much as they are job tasks. Approach the printer carefully enough that the interaction appears, make sure the current step actually completed, then move on. If nothing happened, go back to the last thing you know worked instead of throwing the worm at every button on the machine.

This advice also applies to real printers, honestly.

Messages and calls are easier when you are already in position

Communication tasks can pile up while you are wrestling with something else. When you know a call or message task is coming, get close to the computer or phone first. Saving a few seconds of movement gives you much more room to actually read what the game wants.

If one task is going horribly, sometimes the smartest move is to stop feeding time into it and recover on something you can finish.

Embrace the terrible office performance

Worming from Home is not a game I would try to make perfectly efficient on the first run. Half the point is watching an ordinary job become impossible because you are a worm. Learn the controls, get better at the recurring tasks and let the disaster happen. That is where most of the fun is.
