The Cabin Factory Guide: What Counts as Haunted and How to Finish a Shift

The Cabin Factory has a very simple job description: inspect a cabin and decide whether it is haunted. The problem is that the game is perfectly happy to show you something deeply upsetting that is still technically normal. After enough jump scares, the hardest part is convincing yourself that weird does not automatically mean haunted.

Weird is not the same thing as haunted

The biggest rule I would keep in my head is that a creepy scene can still be the normal version of the cabin. A disturbing pose, ugly decoration or generally cursed looking room is not automatically an anomaly.

What you are really looking for is change. Movement, an object behaving differently, something appearing where it should not or another clear break from the normal scene is much more useful than asking whether the room gives you bad vibes. It will. That is the game.

Inspect the whole cabin before deciding

Do not hit the button after checking the first room. Walk the route, look upstairs and give the smaller objects a second glance. Some of the best anomalies are subtle enough that you can miss them if you only scan the giant obvious things.

Build a normal version in your head

The more cabins you inspect, the more useful your memory becomes. Pay attention to where common objects sit, what the portraits look like and which characters are normally motionless.

You do not need to memorize every pixel. You just want enough of a baseline that something slightly wrong actually feels wrong for a reason.

You need eight correct inspections in a row

The current progression asks you to get eight inspections correct consecutively. A wrong call resets that streak, which is why guessing becomes very expensive once you are several cabins deep.

If you are unsure near the end of a streak, I would rather do one slow lap of the cabin than confidently throw seven correct answers into the trash.

Double check the small stuff

Tiny changes can matter. Mugs, toys, pictures, remotes and other ordinary objects are easy to ignore because the game trains you to stare at the terrifying human shaped thing in the room.

The terrifying human shaped thing knows this. Probably.
