BIGFOOT Solo Guide: Cameras, Traps, Supplies and Staying Alive
BIGFOOT sounds simple until you realize you are one person wandering around a huge dark map trying to hunt something that is much better at hunting you. I played solo and learned pretty quickly that I was more qualified to become Bigfoot food than a Bigfoot hunter. If I were doing another solo run, this is how I would make it less painful.
Use daylight to learn the map
The biggest advantage you have early is being able to explore before everything gets harder to see. I would spend daylight checking buildings, landmarks and useful paths instead of hiding in one safe looking spot waiting for night.
The more of the map you understand while it is calm, the less likely you are to sprint into nowhere later with Bigfoot directly behind you.
Put cameras where they can actually tell you something
Cameras are much more useful when they cover places Bigfoot is likely to pass through or areas you plan to revisit. Dropping them randomly just gives you several beautiful live feeds of absolutely nothing.
I like using landmarks, paths and areas near other equipment as anchors. That way a camera alert actually tells me something about where Bigfoot might be moving.
Make traps part of a plan
A trap by itself is not a strategy. I would place traps in areas I can monitor or return to quickly, then remember exactly where I put them. The goal is to create places where an encounter is more favorable instead of hoping Bigfoot steps on something in the middle of nowhere.
Treat ammo and healing like they matter
Solo play means there is nobody else carrying the supplies you forgot. Keep an eye on ammunition, healing and the condition of your gear before wandering too far from places where you can restock.
The map can also throw other wildlife at you, so wasting half your resources on every noise in the woods is a great way to make the actual Bigfoot encounter much worse.
Surviving is progress
You do not need to win every encounter. If Bigfoot hits hard, back off, heal and reset instead of turning one bad exchange into the end of the run. In solo, staying alive and keeping your equipment working is more important than squeezing out a little extra damage every time you see him.
